Camping in Verlot, Wa

We went camping this weekend with our good friends, the Shearer's and had another good time.  This was our second time camping together and we are supposed to again in a few weeks.  We ended up having a very wet Friday so we did not leave to Verlot until Saturday morning.  This campsite was a lot more close knit than Beckler River last year.  We missed having some privacy but it was reassuring at night to hear the many voices from the other campsites.

The kids got messy in the Stillaguamish river while we hit rocks with a baseball bat.  Mommy really enjoyed this activity.  The guys went fly fishing and Jonathan caught a tiny fish while we were trying to get the kiddos to bed.  Bedtimes this time were a mess because the kids had smores right before bed.... bad idea!  Finally they passed out around 9:30 or 10pm.  Miss Sydney Bean had a night terror at 1:30 am and I am sure woke up the whole campsite as she screamed for a good half hour or more. After many attempts to calm her she capped off the night by head butting Luke and waking up everyone in our tent.  At that point all I could do was laugh out loud and cry on the inside...  We are trying to gear ourselves up for another camping trip to Denny Creek in a couple weeks.  After last night, I don't know if we will spend the night.

Other than the nighttime debacle, we had a great time in nature and with our wonderful friends who are part of our family here in Seattle :)
