Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Carving...

We had had the most beautiful late summer and fall weather.  Don't ask me why we waited till the last weekend to go on our annual pumpkin patch trip.  There was a lot of rain on Saturday but it did not stop us from picking out our big pumpkin.  We decided to go back to the Farm even though the girls had their field trip there earlier this month.  There is a lot to do there and it is partially covered... plus I really wanted to see those adorable kittens again.  I knew Luke would love them too!

It was so much fun stomping around in the mud.  The kids had a great time and worked up a big appetite so we stopped by red robin on the way home and they ate a second lunch.  AT night we spray painted our scaredy cat black and prepared to make him the next day.

We slept in till 8am on Sunday and immediately started our carving festivities.  I baked some pumpkin seeds in the oven and we assembled all of the pieces of our cat... the collar, eyes and ears.  We hot glued some beads on there as well.  Luke and Ava picked out a scary face for the big pumpkin from the farm.  We really had a great time!!  We will be making a cat every year!  Sunday night we had a dress rehearsal for Halloween.  Ava was going to be Wonder Woman, while Sydney was going to be Bat-girl but Ava changed her mind and wanted to be Bat-girl.  It's a good thing Sydney didn't care about the costume switch in face she seems happier to be Wonder Woman.  This will be Luke's second year being Batman.  This year he is the Dark Knight.  Sydney has a party at school tomorrow and Luke and Ava have their school parties on Wednesday.  We are having our good friends over for a Chili potluck, wine and candy.
