"Happy Easter Day!"
Luke's First Girlfriend
Last week at school I was told that a little girl in Luke's class named Izzy, had proclaimed Luke as her boyfriend. Luke has been mentioning her name for the past couple months... and that says a lot because he pretty much never tells me anything about what he does at school. When I picked up Luke from school that day, Luke's teacher told us that Izzy and Luke are the new "power couple" at school. How cute! Steve and I have been teasing him all weekend about it... he just smiles ear to ear!
This is his school picture from last year. He happens to be sitting right next to her :)

Baby Sydney's First Easter
Lots of Easter posts but I will start with this one. It was Baby Sydney's first Easter! What a blessing to have her in our lives this year!

The Family Bed
What's better than jumping in the middle of Mom and Dad's big soft and comfy bed? Nothing! Lately, the kids pile in there before bed and we watch Max & Ruby or Dora.

Ava's New Tricks
Ava has been doing really good pedaling her radio flyer bike. She also peed in the potty for the first time on 4-17-11. Yay Ava!
His silence has been broken...
For the last 6 months or so, Luke has not been saying more than a word or two during his Preschool class. We are not quite sure if he is just playing a game or if he is self consious because his speech has been slow going. Yesterday when I picked him up from school his teacher pulkled me aside and said "I just have to tell you, Luke kept talking and talking today." The whole class and teachers were dumbfounded because they have not heard him talk in 6 months and they could understand everything he was saying. She said he was talking about his legos. Steve and I were so happy to hear this. We will see how he does in school tomorrow.

Tulip Town 2011
The Tulip Festival was cold and muddy but fun this year. The kids were excited to go, especially Luke. We rode the tractor trolley and it was so muddy, it felt like we were going to sink. The tulips were not quite at their peak this week but they were beautiful! This was Baby Sydney's first year to see the tulips and she pretty much slept the whole time because she was snuggling with Daddy in the ergo.

The soft side of Ava...
Right now, I can't stand the rain! I am ready for warmer than 50 degree temps and SUN! This is the hardest time of the year in the PacNW for me... the Spring. Everywhere else it is getting warm and here it is not. It will not be warm for a couple months. So anyway, I am hating the rain and my sweet little Ava made me enjoy it today. She is having a hard time napping these days since she is outgrowing it. About an hour or so after I put her down today I heard her yelling in her room. I went up and she said, "Mommy." I love the way she says "Mommy." With all the excitement in her voice, I really do feel like I am the only person in her world... and such an important person to her... I love this. All of this wonderful feeling by her just saying my name... it's the WAY she says it that makes it feel this way. Anyway, I pick her up out of the crib and she just gives me this huge bearhug. I sit down on her tiny purple polkadot chair and just hold her and hug her, listening to the rain. She did not want me to let her go and I didn't want to either. I love these moments in the day, when there is just quiet and I can live purely in the present appreciating what I have.

Not a mean bone in his body!
I knew Luke would be good to Sydney, before she was even born but I never would of imagined he would care sooo much for her at such a young age. I swear there is not a mean bone in Luke's body.... I couldn't of asked God for a sweeter boy to set a good example for his Sissy's!
Sydney's 9 month Well Child Visit and 3 new teeth!!
Both Sydney and Luke had their appointments together. It proved to be challenging with all 3 kids and me locked in a tiny prrom for an hour but we survived. Sydney is continuing to be the tallest girl so far at 29 1/2 inches already!!! That is the 96th% and 18lbs 2 oz (38th%) Two weeks later, she is still not crawling but she did get 3 teeth in, in a matter of 4 days. Since her teeth are in now, she can focusing on trying to learn to crawl. She can get on all fours and support herslf, she just has not made that connection in her brain to move. Hopefully she will be moving soon! You can see the brown splotch in her left eye real good in this picture, as well as her other bottom tooth coming in and a bit of one of her top teeth.
