Happy Birthday my fiesta little baby of the family who does not want to grow up. She is the only kid I know that would like to get younger with each birthday! I am being serious! She does not want to grow up! It was God's way of telling me that I am done, when I had Syd! She is a true "Cancer" sign with her emotions and sensitivity. She is a true empath and can sense and take on any energy in the room. It truly is astonishing and can be trying most times. Someday this quality will benefit her when she is mature enough to distinguish the difference between other's feelings and her own. But for now, her special gift can be quite overwhelming and misread.
Sydney is passionate, sweet, and can be quite focused at times. She loves her baby dolls and takes such great care of them! It is the one toy she goes back to all the time and she gets "lost" in her world playing with them. Both Steve and i love to secretly watch her bounce them to sleep, feed them, reprimand them, help them when they get boo-boos and snuggle them. Syd idolizes her big sister and Ava takes such good care of her little sister! Luke shows his love to Sydney by pressing her buttons and teasing her. The things he bugs her most about are the qualities that are most like his. He has been her protector from day one! Even though his antics may come off as "mean" (as she likes to call it,) I think it is his way of trying to correct the things he wishes he could change himself. She likes to flap her wings and perseverate just like Luke to name a couple of these quirks. When Lukey decides to stop meddling, Sydney just eats him up and they have a great time playing! One day when Luke was home from school recently, Luke looked at me and said "I love this combination of people." It was just Luke, Syd, and I. Don't get me wrong, Ava is adored by all, but there was no competition for play that day. Two is an even number!
Back to Syd... she keeps me on my toes and makes me melt when she wants to snug! And I love when she is feeling good and centered enough to put all of her "sensory processing" aside and forgets that is ok for her leg to touch mine, and for me to touch her food. Both Steve and I know, we got to take advantage of those moments when we can and we do! It is so awarding! That is when we see her true soul and how beautiful and sweet she is when she is not bogged down with all the sensory crap.
Syd is so smart and imaginative! She is great artist and has loved drawing since she could hold a pencil. When she doesn't let her perfectionism take over, she has created some beautiful pieces of art that encompass the whole page... no white spots what-so-ever! She loves to dance and "feel" the music... she did not get that from her Mama! Her imagination can be downright magical sometimes!
Sydney loves her friends like they are family! She is my only child that sought out friendships and playdates persistently! Sometimes I have to ask her if she will just play with me! She has her special best friend in the world since birth, Naomi. No one will ever come close to ever comparing to Naomi. She loves all of her other friends but every picture, every craft, every playdate... must be done with Naomi! Their personalities are so similar that the relationship can be quite intense, especially for such young kiddos!
Happy Birthday my sweet and passionate little girl... the baby of our family! You are so loved by all of your family and friends! You are so unique and special and so so strong! Your light burns so bright.... you are unstoppable as long as you don't stop yourself!
